In a society where appearances are important, we are evaluated based on the number of likes we receive on a post.
If we rely only on the comments from others to feel successful, what does it mean?
If we use the mirror technique, subject of my first workshop, the others reflect how dependent we are on their opinion.
By the end, it’s not what they think that matters; this is how we feel about it.
Unfortunately, we don’t know how to feel satisfied with what we are doing, who we are, simply because we did not learn how to appreciate ourselves.
Indeed, we believe that, only when we do something which will please others, we will receive love and recognition.
It starts with our parents as a kid and later, with others. The problem is that we can’t please everybody, because we are all different and we are as well a mirror to others.
The people who attended my workshop yesterday were my mirrors. They shown me how judgmental I am with myself, my degree of love and recognition.
I accept that it was not perfect but I recognize the courage it took me to go from the idea of the workshop to the action of doing it. I was authentic with myself. It was a success against my fears and my believes.
With or without the likes.
With Love,
Fadila
